TRAVERTINE MARBLE
CLEANING, SEALING AND MAINTENANCE OF TRAVERTINE MARBLE
After tiles have been laid allow sufficient time as per the tile adhesive supplier's specifications for the grout and adhesive to cure sufficiently so that the maintenance system will not inflict any damage to
the grout or adhesive.
Always use protective equipment for eyes, hands and feet.
SYSTEM
A: Manual cleaning
Apply a dilution of SPECKLEEN ACON diluted between 1:15 and 1:30 depending on the degree of contamination by mop to the affected area. (For use on honed and natural travertine only).
Use SPECKLEEN® NEUTRADET on polished travertine.
Using a single disc scrubbing machine with a blue pad or natural fibre brush for unhoned/unpolished marble or a red pad / natural fibre brush for highly polished travertine to remove the contamination.
Rinse with clean water and remove all residues by means of a wet extraction machine with defoamer.
If cleaning by hand, ensure that the cleaner has rubber or latex gloves, eye and adequate foot protection.
If skin becomes irritated, wash with copious amounts of clean water.
B: Auto scrubber cleaning
Apply a dilution of SPECKLEEN ACON diluted up to 1:30 depending on the degree contamination by mop to the affected area. (For use on honed and natural travertine only).
Use SPECKLEEN® NEUTRADET on polished travertine.
Use with a blue pad or natural fibre brush for unhoned/unpolished travertine or a red pad / natural fibre brush for highly polished travertine to remove the contamination.
Where very bad soilage is encountered, repeat the above.
Add a defoamer to the waste collection tank.
Rinse with clean water and remove all residues by means of wet extraction machine.
Ensure that the cleaner has rubber or latex gloves and eye and foot protection.
SEALING
It is strongly recommended that travertine be sealed with SPECKLEEN® PERMOSEAL STD W/S penetrating sealer.
MAINTENANCE
Manual cleaning
Daily:
Sweep daily using a SPECKLEEN Masslin dust remover.
Spot clean with SPECKLEEN® NEUTRADET.
For anti slip cleaning use NO SKIDDING® S.R.C.
High traffic areas MUST be washed daily.
Weekly:
Wash with a solution of SPECKLEEN® NEUTRADET.
Autoscrubber
Add a solution of SPECKLEEN® NEUTRADET in dilution up to 1:100 to the dispersion tank
Use natural bristle brushes or blue/red pads.
Use a defoamer in the waste collection tank.
Rinse with clean water.
FIRST AID
If skin or eyes becomes irritated, wash with copious amounts of clean water.
